North Star

To: The North Star,                                                                                                           Nov. 15, 2012
My dear sister, The North Star,
You fear the darkness you do not understand completely,
but if you looked hard enough,
your very essence would light the way,
you are the brightest star I've ever seen.

My dear sister, The North star,
You shine so bright,
you outshine the ever growing sun,
and the ever dulling moon,
so remember this.

My dear sister, The North Star,
our sun and moon aren't unique,
there are many more,
you will meet stars that shine with hope,
and some that shine with hate.

My dear sister, The North Star,
there are many moons,
just the same.
Earth is only but one planet out there,
the universe is filled with hope and beauty.

My dear sister, The North Star,
one day you will look away from the milky way,
and you will see other galaxies filled with other friends.
I know now you feel alone,
and that earth isn't a great friend.

My dear sister, The North Star,
we listen,
we care,
we want you to know,
you're not alone out here.

My dear sister, The North Star,
You will outlive the sun,
the moon,
the earth,
do not care what they think.

My dear sister,
The North Star,
You are shining so bright today,
I hope to see the same smile tomorrow.
